In September, two new European energy regulations came into effect that affect heating equipment and accumulators. With ERP and ELP directives, the European Union is strongly in favor of the use of efficient technologies. Among these efficient technologies, condensation plays a major role. So much so that the regions have long been pushing plans for renovation of old boiler rooms which reward the installation of condensing solutions, but what are the main advantages of condensing boilers? Why are they the most efficient option? Let’s see what the keys are to the efficiency of condensing boilers.

Use of Heat

In condensing boilers, a part of the water vapor condenses and releases energy that feeds the process. This means a more efficient operation, which allows to produce greater amounts of heat from the energy. The conventional boilers waste that energy.

Adapting to Demand

The condensing boilers are adapted to the demand in any range of operation of the equipment and that allows you to work more efficiently.

In the conventional boilers, the temperature of the fumes and the water in the boiler must be above the dew point temperature of the gases and this prevents them from adjusting effectively to variations in demand.

Performance

The condensing boilers achieve yields of up to 108% in relation to the lower calorific value of the fuel, which places heating savings between 10% and 15% on the consumption compared to the other modern systems and up to 30% in the old installations.

Quick Amortization

The monthly reduction of the gas consumptions allows a faster amortization of the installation. To this are added the aid and bonuses that the autonomous communities set in motion.

Lower Emissions of CO2

The lower fuel use affects greater care of the environment because the emissions of CO2 and NOx are reduced. This makes these technologies adapted to the new European regulations and great allies of the 2020 targets, among which are to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and to improve energy efficiency by 20%.

The Association of Manufacturers of Hot Water Generators and Emitters has just launched a campaign under the title ‘Yes, condenser, compensates’ in which it analyzes the benefits of condensation technology.

While the FEGECA campaign has focused on showing the benefits to the consumers on an individual level or in neighborhood communities, other medium and large facilities may be the great beneficiaries of their efficiency.

In this way, companies or brands in which heat is an essential element, having the efficient technology can directly affect their income statement. For example, hotels and health centers, such as spas or sports facilities, require heat to provide good service to their customers.
